Ferrari to introduce hybrid option with 599 hybrid electric

Ferrari is going green and will have the sexiest hybrid on the market soon. Ferrari unveiled their new hybrid electric Ferrari 599 HY-KERS concept recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and it was a hit drawing praise from all corners of the market.

The lithium ion batteries and rear axle mounted electric motor adds around 100kgs to the vehicle mass but the electric motor output is 100bhp, so the power to weight ratio is not compromised. The batteries are mounted flat and low on the chassis, giving a centre of gravity lower than the standard V12 599 model that helps road holding.

The new Ferrari hybrid electric will still have all the zip of the traditional Ferrait; 200 mph, zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds, and 125 mph in 10.5 seconds, albeit without the traditional roar of the engine associated with Italian speed demons.
